Serbian world number 47 Miomir
Kecmanovic will be world number one Jannik Sinner's first
opponent on the grass at Wimbledon, according to Friday's draw
for the men's singles event at the London Grand Slam, which
begins Monday.
Four-time slam winner Sinner, 24, is looking to retain the title
in South West London after collapsing with dizziness and fatigue
in the heat when on the verge of victory over world number 45
Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the last 16 of the Paris Open last
month.
The South Tyrolean leads a group of seven Italians aiming to be
protagonists.
Another Serbian, most people's GOAT Novak Djokovic, is also in
Sinner's half of the draw.
The Italian could then face Peruvian Ignacio Buse and, in an
all-Italian round of 16, Luciano Darderi.
Russian Daniil Medvedev is expected to appear in the
quarterfinals.
Darderi, for his part, will make his debut against American
Ethan Quinn.
Recent Roland Garros finalist Flavio Cobolli will face Argentine
Mariano Navone, and Matteo Arnaldi will face Frenchman Quentin
Halys.
Lorenzo Sonego will face Argentine Tomas Martiun Etcheverry, and
Mattia Bellucci will face American Zachary Svajda.
Of particular interest is 2021 finalist Matteo Berrettini's
debut, as he faces Swiss veteran Stan Wawrinka in the latter's
final Wimbledon appearance.
