Lapu-Lapu barangay councilor arrested in Mandaue drug bust

LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — A 43-year-old barangay councilor from Lapu-Lapu City was apprehended after authorities allegedly found illegal drugs in his possession during a checkpoint on Thursday evening, June 25, 2026, along A.C. Cortes Avenue in Barangay Cambaro, Mandaue City. The suspect is a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City. He is an incumbent barangay councilor and chairperson of the barangay’s Peace and Order Committee. Authorities allegedly recovered two small sachets of suspected shabu from the suspect’s pocket.
