Eight individuals arrested in connection with the alleged theft of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple donations have been remanded to judicial custody until June 29
LUCKNOW: A local court on Friday remanded all eight accused arrested in the alleged Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple donation theft case to judicial custody till June 29. They will remain in jail and are scheduled to be produced before the court again on Monday.Investigators have recovered Rs 79.85 lakh allegedly linked to the embezzled temple donations during the probe. According to sources, the cash was recovered from all the accused except Subhash Srivastava.Preliminary investigations revealed that, barring Subhash Srivastava and Ramashankar Yadav alias Tinnu, the remaining six accused were associated with a bank's outsourced cash management agency entrusted with counting donations received at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.
Investigators allege that the six were directly involved in counting the offerings when the embezzlement took place.The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is continuing its probe into the alleged misappropriation of devotees' donations. All eight accused will be produced before the court again on June 29.
