Kathmandu. An exhibition showcasing student-built projects in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, cybersecurity, software, and digital innovation began in Kathmandu on Thursday under ‘Presidential Innovista 2.0, 2026.’ Organized by Presidential Graduate School in association with Westcliff University, USA, the two-day event features more than 55 technology projects developed by around 170 students.
The exhibition, which runs until Friday (June 26), aims to highlight students' innovation, digital creativity, and future-ready skills while connecting them with industry leaders, investors, and startup opportunities, according to the organizers.
This year's Innovista focuses on five key technology domains: computer vision and AI, IoT and robotics, cyber village, software, and Technoversity. Student projects across these categories are on display throughout the event.
Among the major attractions are an FPV drone capable of showering flowers, Robo Soccer, a football-playing robot, a music-responsive dancing robot, and an AI-powered emotion detection system that analyzes facial expressions and recommends music accordingly. The exhibition also features cybersecurity projects addressing online fraud, data breaches, and bank account security.
Visitors can also explore innovations such as smart irrigation systems, smart home systems equipped with automatic gas leak detection and cut-off mechanisms, tourism promotion software, and remote-controlled vehicles operated through 360-degree cameras. Organizers said the projects demonstrate how technology can be applied to everyday life, agriculture, tourism, business, and public safety.
Laxman KC, founder and chairman of Presidential Graduate School, said the projects have been designed with commercial potential in mind rather than merely for exhibition. “Our goal is to show that world-class innovation is possible in Nepal,” KC said. “These projects were built entirely by students, and our next priority is to connect them with industry, investors, and the market.”
He added that the college's Business Incubation Center will support commercially viable projects by helping prepare them for investment, startup development, and market entry through collaboration between IT and business students.
The event also includes the Technoversity Pavilion, where more than 34 students from various colleges who recently completed Grade 12 are presenting projects they developed during a week-long mentorship program led by Presidential Graduate School students. The winner in this category will receive a cash prize of up to Rs 100,000.
According to the organizers, the exhibition targets Plus Two graduates, undergraduate students, aspiring IT professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, and anyone interested in emerging technologies. Entry to the event is free.
Kalpana Gurung, director and principal of Presidential Graduate School, said Innovista serves as more than a platform for displaying student creativity. “Innovista is designed to connect students with future academic, career, and entrepreneurial opportunities,” Gurung said.
She added that the exhibition will now be organized annually. “Our objective is to bring together students, industry experts, and investors to create pathways for employment and startups. We believe this initiative will strengthen Nepal's IT and business ecosystem while inspiring the next generation of innovators,” she said.
Currently, around 1,400 students are enrolled at Presidential Graduate School, which has more than 90 faculty members and over 45 administrative staff, according to the college.
