The festival intends to promote the Algarve orange and is supported by the market and the school of hospitality and tourism in Portimão.

A spokesman for Portimão Câmara said: “We have had a great response to previous editions of the festival, selling dozens of tonnes of citrus fruit and in this, our third edition, we hope to sell in excess of 10 tonnes of oranges.”
