Annual shoebox drive for the elderly

The Castelo dos Sonhos charity, which was set up to help the deprived, abused and aged living in the Silves area, has more than 200 elderly in need this Christmas.

To ensure the aged receive much-needed gifts this Christmas, participants need to fill an empty shoebox with a variety of gifts for either a man or woman.

The gifts can include items such as essential cosmetics, hats, gloves, scarves, sewing kits, tea towels, a torch, chocolate and sweets, ornaments and Christmas decorations and cards. The shoeboxes must not however include medicines.

Shoeboxes must be wrapped and labelled for a man, woman or a couple and must be delivered to Castelo dos Sonhos in Silves or the Hotel Garbe in Armação de Pêra between November 15 and December 1.

The boxes will be delivered by the Castelo dos Sonhos team.
