Cycling’s 2009 Tour of Portugal will start in Lisbon on August 5 and end in Viseu on the 16th. Having been hosted by Portimão for the past three years, Portugal’s most important race covers a total of 1,601 kilometres featuring a prologue and ten stages all to the north of the capital.
Among the 16 competing teams from six nations boasting 144 riders will be Palmeiras Resort / Tavira’s David Blanco, who became the first foreign dual winner of the event in 2008.
