Portinado star of the pool Alexandre Agostinho is currently leading a 14-strong Portuguese team at the World Swimming Championships in Rome where the Olhão-born Daniel Viegas finished a disappointing 27th in the weather delayed open water marathon.

Meanwhile Agostinho’s very successful Portimão club’s men’s water polo team claimed the Portuguese title by beating defending champions Salgueiros 11-4.The victory ended a 20-year wait.
