Ariana Grande Spends Time With Ex Ricky Alvarez After Ethan Slater Breakup
Ariana Grande is quite pop-u-lar.
Case in point: The Wicked star was joined by her ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez during a group lunch at De Nada Cantina in Austin, Texas, on June 25.
As seen in photos circulating on social media, Grande wore a black T-shirt from her ongoing Eternal Sunshine Tour while seated at a table across from Alvarez, who donned an Elysia band tee that showed off his distinctive arm tattoos.
And the "We Can't Be Friends" singer was very sociable during her meal, according to De Nada Cantina owner Stephen Shallcross, who told local newspaper the Austin American-Statesman that Grande was friendly to both staff and guests. In fact, the 33-year-old was snapped a few selfies with fans, who later posted the photos online.
Grande is currently in Austin as part of her three-day shows at the Moody Center. During her first night performing at ATX on June 24, she subtly modified the lyrics to "Thank U, Next" in a seeming nod to where she stands with Alvarez.
In fan footage from the concert, Grande—who dated the dancer from 2015 to 2016—sang, "Wrote some songs about Ricky / And they still really slap" in place of its original line, "Now I listen and laugh."

But that wasn't the first time Grande tweaked the words to the 2019 smash single during her Eternal Sunshine Tour. During the June 6 show in Oakland, Calif., she changed her performance to reference her 2023 divorce from Dalton Gomez.
Instead of singing, “Only wanna do it once real bad, gonna make that s--t last,” Grande opted to keep quiet and gave the audience a knowing look as she held up two fingers and laughed.
That performance came just days before news broke that Grande had called it quits with her Wicked costar Ethan Slater months prior. As a source told E! on June 8, "They have quietly been broken up after nearly three years together."
Read on for a look back at her relationship with Slater.
