
TUGUEGARAO CITY — Police confiscated a loaded gun and a knife from three Grade 10 students during a security inspection at the Aparri School of Arts and Trades (ASAT) in Aparri, Cagayan, on Friday,
Investigators from the Aparri Municipal Police Station recovered a loaded .38 caliber revolver and a knife from the students.
The three students told police they had been carrying the firearm and bladed weapon for protection, claiming they were involved in a personal feud with rival groups.

School officials also informed authorities that the students had been frequently skipping classes.

The minors were turned over to the municipal social welfare office for counseling and temporary custody.
Prior to the confiscation, personnel from the Aparri police and the PNP 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted inspections at ASAT and other schools, including Aparri West National High School.
The teams also held anti-bullying lectures and distributed informational flyers and pamphlets as part of their campus safety campaign, according to Aparri police chief Major Junneil Perez. /gsg
