Bandarlampung, Lampung (ANTARA) - The Statistics Indonesia (BPS) has said that public honesty in reporting economic activities is crucial to the success of the 2026 Economic Census.
"The success of the 2026 Economic Census is the responsibility of all elements of society and depends heavily on public honesty in providing information on their economic activities," BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said here on Saturday.
She added that the success of the census is also measured by the extent to which no businesses or households are left unrecorded during data collection by field officers.
"Everything must be recorded without exception. Let's ensure together that no business is missed because every economic activity, no matter how small, is important for our economy, for Lampung’s economy, and for Indonesia’s economy," she said.
Widyasanti also expressed appreciation and encouragement to the 2026 Economic Census officers deployed across Lampung.
A total of 8,619 officers will be assigned to collect data across 15 districts and cities in the province.
"Field officers are the front line of the success of the 2026 Economic Census. We urge all officers to carry out their duties with full responsibility, integrity, and dedication," she said.
She expressed hope that the 2026 Economic Census would produce accurate, complete, and high-quality data to serve as a basis for economic policymaking, while also strengthening regional competitiveness and improving public welfare.
"With collaboration between the public, the government, and all census officers, the 2026 Economic Census is expected to present a comprehensive picture of Lampung’s economic conditions, which will serve as an important foundation for Indonesia’s future economic development," she said.
