
CAUAYAN CITY — Members of the LGBTQIA+ community took center stage in a colorful Pride Month celebration featuring a parade, drag performances, and a fashion show at a mall here on Friday, June 26.
The event, which ran from afternoon until evening, highlighted the community’s advocacy for love, diversity, equality and self-expression through music, performances and fashion.
“Our celebration showcases the love, diversity and self-expression that define the LGBTQIA+ community,” said Jaymar Mason, president of the Cauayan City LGBTQIA+ Organization.

Dressed in vibrant gowns and creative costumes, participants used the event to promote equality, inclusivity and empowerment while raising awareness on issues affecting the LGBTQIA+ community.
The Pride Month celebration also built on earlier activities, including symposiums on HIV awareness, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE), and the Safe Spaces Act. /apl
