The Environmental Health Directorate has advised the public not to bathe at L-Għażżenin Bay in St Paul’s Bay after a sewage overflow affected the area.
The advisory was issued as a precautionary measure in line with the Bathing Water Directive, with officials warning that the incident may have impacted the quality of the seawater and could pose a potential health risk to bathers.
Environmental Health Officers are carrying out investigations to determine the source and extent of the contamination.
Authorities said it is too early to determine how long the bathing advisory will remain in place.
The public is urged to follow official guidance and avoid swimming at the site until further notice.
