
MANILA, Philippines — Authorities confiscated P40.06 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 110 suspects in nationwide operations conducted from June 18 to 25, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said over the weekend.
PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez said 83 operations were carried out across the country during the period.
“These accomplishments reflect the commitment of PDEA, the Philippine National Police, and other law enforcement agencies in protecting our communities from the threat of illegal drugs. Every successful operation in the cities, ports or remote areas strengthens public safety,” Nerez said in a statement.

“We will continue to intensify intelligence-driven operations and sustain our efforts in support of the Bagong Pilipinas campaign for a safer and drug-free Philippines.”

Of those arrested, 76 were identified as drug pushers while 19 were alleged possessors.
All suspects will face charges under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Seized during the operations were 3,574.91 grams of shabu, 72,240 pieces of marijuana plants, 9,899.13 grams of dried marijuana leaves, 2,800 pieces of marijuana seedling, and 5.18 grams of marijuana kush.
The confiscated items are now in government custody for forensic examination and will be presented as evidence in court proceedings, PDEA said.
