Several dogs have been confiscated after they were allegedly found to be in urgent need of veterinary care, Parliamentary Secretary for Animal Rights Alicia Bugeja Said has revealed.
In a social media post, Bugeja Said said officials from the Directorate for Animal Welfare, assisted by the Malta Police Force, carried out the operation and removed a number of dogs that allegedly required immediate medical intervention.
She thanked the Director for Animal Welfare and all the officials involved for their work, describing their efforts as “tireless”.
“We will continue working relentlessly against every case of cruelty and negligence, while continuing to strengthen animal welfare,” Bugeja Said said.
No further details about the case or the number of dogs confiscated have yet been released.
