
COTABATO CITY – A 42-year-old driver from this city was arrested after authorities seized about two kilograms of alleged shabu worth P13.6 million during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sarmiento, Parang, Maguindanao del Norte, at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
Edgar Jubay, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) director, identified the suspect as alias “Akmad.”
Anti-narcotics agents recovered two purple Chinese tea bags marked “888” containing approximately 2,000 grams of suspected shabu. The illegal drugs had an estimated standard drug price of P13.6 million.

Also recovered during the operation were an Android mobile phone, a Suzuki Ertiga vehicle with plate number NOV-2519, the buy-bust money consisting of one genuine P1,000 bill placed on top of 20 bundles of fake bills, a wallet containing P620 in cash, and two identification cards.
Jubay lauded the support provided by the 1401st Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-14A and the Parang Municipal Police Station during the entrapment operation.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspect for submission to the prosecutor’s office on Monday. /mcm
