Why Ed Kelce Says Taylor Swift Is "Just Like" Daughter-in-Law Kylie Kelce
Taylor Swift is returning to her roots in more ways than one.
Less than a month after the Grammy winner released her first country song in over 10 years with “I Knew It, I Knew You,” she appeared virtually to support Alan Jackson at his landmark finale show in Nashville.
“It’s Taylor,” Swift said in a video displayed during the June 27 show at Nissan Stadium. “I just want to say thank you for your decades of your incredible songwriting and performances and the way that means so much to us, the fans.”
Swift went on to applaud Jackson’s song “Drive,” which she covered in 2008 for an episode of CMT: Giants.
“In that song, you paint such a picture and let us into the details of your life,” the 36-year-old continued. “I know that was an example that was so good for me to see at a young age, an artist who's really just letting fans into the details of his life.”
The “Karma” singer emphasized that she and other fellow artists received “such support and encouragement over the years” from the 67-year-old.
“I’m so excited for you doing this show and just appreciate you so much,” she mused. “Love you.”
While several videos shared to social media captured cheers from the crowd upon Swift’s surprise virtual message, other fans present in Nissan Stadium alleged she was booed.
In a TikTok video shared following the show, a fan present at the show wrote alongside a video claiming Swift was booed, “Not the reaction they were expecting I’m assuming.”

Meanwhile, fans argued whether the crowd was actually booing the “Opalite” singer.
“Didn't sound like boo's,” one said, while another responded, “They definitely booed.”
Whatever the reaction, Swift is more than capable of shaking it off when haters hate, hate, hate. During the Super Bowl in 2025, she was booed by fans of the Philadelphia Eagles as she attended to support fiancé Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs.
Upon hearing the crowd reaction, Swift simply laughed it off alongside her pal Ice Spice.
And more recently, the Eras Tour performer shared insight into how she feels about the pressure to please in her industry.
“As writers, we can only hope to meet people where they are in their lives, but you can’t ever orchestrate or force the encounter,” Swift shared during her speech following her induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame June 11. “You just have to hope that in some exquisite happenstance you bump into them on the same path at the same time, that somehow amidst the noise of life, a line we wrote or a melody that we crafted cuts through and they hear and feel something—that they get chills or feel lighter or think of someone they love.”
