Up to five fire trucks called to Manawatu house fire

Firefighters have been called to a house fire in rural Manawatu overnight.

Up to five trucks were called to the property in Rangiotu about 12:15am on Monday.

Fire and Emergency said the fire began in one room before spreading across the entire building.

People living at the home were all out when firefighters arrived on scene.

The fire was out about 1:50am with a fire investigator due to return to the property in the morning.
