Hundreds of people turned out to see the Parliamentary Rugby Team take on a Russell invitational side in Saturday's Rumble in Russell, a biennial fundraiser for the charity Rugby for Life and one of the biggest events on Northland's sporting calendar.
Both teams were studded with household names, including MPs, government ministers, ex-All Blacks, former Kiwis, a TV sports broadcaster and a celebrity hāngī chef.
The Capital Cup was retained by the Russell Penguins 22-10 in front of the crowd of just under 1200. with the two sides due to meet again in 2028.
