While Castro did not mention who she was referring to in her statement, Vice President Sara Duterte recently made a remark where she appeared to have called Marcos “masamang damo (bad weed),” who does not die easily.
The embattled vice president, who faces a looming impeachment trial, made the remark in a speech in Sarangani on June 23.
“Masamang damo, matagal mamatay, BBM (Bad weed, takes a long time to die, BBM),” she said, referring to the acronym for Marcos’ nickname, Bongbong.
These specific remarks were shut down by Castro at a briefing last week, saying only a person who wants to snatch Marcos’ position wishes for his demise. /das
