Spanish giants Barcelona have reportedly “made contact with the representatives of Harry Kane as they explore a potential move for the Bayern Munich striker.”
According to reports from the Daily Mail, also cited by Sky Sports and ESPN on Monday, “Barcelona have agreed to reassess Kane’s situation after the World Cup as they consider options to strengthen their attack.”
The England captain, 32, has one year remaining on his contract with Bayern Munich.
While Kane is not actively seeking a departure from the Bundesliga champions, Barcelona are said “to be prepared to pursue a deal if the opportunity arises.”
Kane is among several attacking options being considered by the Catalan club as they plan for the future.
Reports indicate that Barcelona also retain interest in Junior Kroupi of AFC Bournemouth as an alternative to Julián Álvarez of Atlético Madrid.
Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo reports that Dusan Vlahovic could emerge as another option for Barcelona.
The Juventus striker is reportedly available on a free transfer and could be considered as a replacement should Ferran Torres leave the club.
The search for attacking reinforcements comes as former Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski edges closer to a move to Major League Soccer.
A source told ESPN that Lewandowski is finalising the details of a deal with Chicago Fire FC that would see him join the MLS side this summer.
Elsewhere, reports suggest Liverpool FC are monitoring the situation of Said El Mala, the winger currently playing for 1. FC Köln, as clubs across Europe continue preparations for the transfer window.
