The beloved Msida Ġostra is making its return next month, with this year’s edition kicking off with a special fundraising event in aid of Puttinu Cares.
Taking place on Sunday 12th July at the Msida Waterfront, the opening event will combine one of Malta’s oldest traditional sports with a charitable cause, encouraging the public to come together in support of families receiving treatment through Puttinu Cares.
Organisers are inviting everyone to attend, whether by taking part in the competition, cheering on participants or making a donation, with all support helping to raise awareness and funds for the NGO.
“Tradition meets generosity” is the theme of this year’s opening event, as the iconic ġostra once again takes centre stage while giving back to the community.
The Msida Ġostra has long been one of Malta’s most anticipated summer traditions, drawing crowds eager to watch competitors attempt to sprint across a greased wooden pole suspended over the sea in pursuit of the coveted flag.
This year’s opening event promises not only plenty of excitement on the waterfront but also the chance to make a meaningful difference for a cause close to many Maltese hearts.
