
BACOLOD CITY — A 12-year-old student surrendered to police on Monday, June 29, less than an hour after allegedly stabbing a fellow student outside a public high school in Barangay Sum-ag.
The victim, a 14-year-old Grade 8 student, sustained minor stab wounds to his left arm and left side during the incident, according to a report from the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR).

Investigators said a commotion broke out outside Sum-ag National High School at 4:18 p.m. After the disturbance subsided, bystanders found the 14-year-old student with stab wounds.

Personnel from the Barangay Sum-ag Rescue Unit immediately responded, administered first aid, and rushed the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Following a swift investigation, the suspect—a Grade 7 student classified as a child in conflict with the law—voluntarily surrendered at Police Station 9 at around 5 p.m., the PRO-NIR said. /mcm
