A woman was rescued by Portuguese police today after a tactical operation at an apartment in Porto as part of an investigation into alleged domestic violence.
The operation was carried out by the Public Security Police (PSP), with officers from the Special Police Unit’s Intervention Corps conducting a tactical entry into the property after authorities received information that the woman was allegedly being held there against her will.
Police forced entry into the apartment by breaking down the front door to secure the victim’s safety.
The woman was safely removed from the property, while the suspect was arrested at the scene.
The operation resulted only in damage to the apartment door, with no injuries reported to either police officers or those involved.
The case remains under investigation by the competent authorities.
