MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) is looking for the uploader of the now-viral video in which a retired Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) general was allegedly seen toting his gun.
“The Mandaluyong City Police Station is already looking at the possible cases against the retired AFP general,” PNP public information chief Col. Allen Rae Co said in a press briefing in Camp Crame on Monday. He did not name the retired AFP general.
“They’re still trying to locate the uploader… He will be the one to file the complaint,” Co added.

The video circulating online over the weekend showed the retired AFP general supposedly confronting the individual behind the camera while brandishing his firearm over an alleged parking dispute.
In a statement, the Mandaluyong City Police Station said its investigators were already on the ground to gather witness statements, determine the firearm’s legality, and review footage.
“During disputes, everyone is urged to de-escalate and settle conflicts peacefully through respectful communication or by seeking help from barangay officials or the police—never through threats or weapon displays,” it stressed.
“Carrying firearms is a serious privilege with equally serious responsibility. Using a firearm to threaten or intimidate others is illegal and will be met with appropriate legal and administrative actions,” it added.
Neither Co nor the Mandaluyong City Police Station mentioned the retired AFP general’s current disposition. /cb
