The Kwara State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of rival cult groups.
They also recovered a locally fabricated pistol in the process.
The latest arrests come barely days after a deadly shooting around the Post Office area of Ilorin that claimed four lives and left two others injured.
According to the command, intelligence-led operations carried out by operatives led to the arrest of Abdullahi Jimoh Omotoho, 33, alleged to be a member of the Klans-Avea cult group operating within the metropolis.
Police said a locally fabricated Beretta pistol was recovered from the suspect during the operation.
Further investigations, according to the command, led to the arrest of another suspect, Abdullahi Kareem Kawu, popularly known as “B-Red,” who was identified as a member of the Eiye confraternity.
The police said the suspect is assisting investigators in efforts to dismantle criminal networks linked to cult-related activities in the state.
The latest arrests add to the growing number of suspected cultists apprehended by the command in recent days.
