Cara Delevingne Addresses Rumors She Dated Amber Heard During Johnny Depp Marriage
Cara Delevingne is speaking out on her rumored affair with Amber Heard.
Though the supermodel was previously accused by Johnny Depp of having an affair with his then-wife, she explained that the Pirates of the Caribbean star was misinterpreting their strong bond.
"I think he was pretty driven crazy by jealousy," Delevingne told Louis Theroux during a June 29 episode of the Louis Theroux Podcast, stating that "nothing was happening at that point."
She added that Depp’s belief that she and Heard were having an affair began because the two women filmed the movie London Fields—in which Depp had a brief cameo—in 2013.
Depp and Heard began dating in 2011 and tied the knot in 2014. After a 15-month marriage, the pair split in 2015 before finalizing their divorce the following year.
After their breakup, Delevingne confirmed that she and Heard got together.
"Later, after they divorced, it had [happened], I suppose," Delevingne said, elaborating that "[Heard and I] were close for a long time, and then when they were going through the divorce, we were entangled."
But the Paper Towns actress also noted that she wasn't the only romantic partner Heard was seeing after her breakup, including Elon Musk, whom Heard dated on and off from 2016 to 2018. As Delevingne put it, "She was also entangled with other people."
And Delevingne—who now identifies as a lesbian after coming out as pansexual in 2020—is now proud to be open about her sexuality and dating women.
"I look back on it, it was super evident really young. I knew at 11 years old," Delevingne explained. "I think when I started talking about it and being open about it, I felt like there was a lot to fight for still at that point in terms of shows about gay people and people to look up to for younger kids."

While the Victoria's Secret Angel has starred in multiple movies throughout her career, including Jordan Firstman's Club Kid, she felt pressured to hide her sexuality in order to gain roles for a period of time.
Delevingne relayed that she "really believed" and "took to heart" when former movie producer Harvey Weinstein once told her, "You should never be in a relationship with a woman. You’ll never make it in the industry if people think you’re gay."
