Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) reported that a series of forest and land fires in parts of Aceh, West Java, and Central Java caused no fatalities.
Head of BNPB's Center for Disaster Data, Information, and Communication, Abdul Muhari, stated on Tuesday that field reports confirmed no fatalities in all affected areas.
"In line with the response efforts carried out by the joint teams in the regions, no fatalities have been reported from the series of fires," he said.
Muhari explained that the series of wildfires began with a forest and land fire that burned four hectares of land in Gentan Village, Bulu Subdistrict, Sukoharjo District, Central Java, on Saturday evening (June 27).
The fire was fully extinguished the following day by a joint team comprising personnel from the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), the Indonesian Military, the National Police, and volunteers. No affected residents were reported in the incident.
A similar land fire was reported in Birem Puntong Village, Langsa Baro Subdistrict, Langsa City, Aceh, on Sunday (June 28).

BNPB confirmed that the two-hectare fire in Aceh, triggered by burning garbage, materially affected one family with no casualties.
Muhari stated that the Langsa City BPBD, which deployed two fire engines and one water tanker, managed to extinguish the blaze on the same day.
Meanwhile, the third reported forest and land fire occurred in Tomo Village, Sumedang District, West Java, burning two hectares of land.
"The fire was brought under control through coordinated efforts between the local BPBD and a joint response team, which deployed a water tanker. The cause of the fire remains under investigation," he said.
Earlier, BNPB called regional governments, including relevant ministries and agencies, to intensify regional patrols and map alternative water sources to anticipate the threat of drought and forest-land fires.
"We ask regional governments in vulnerable areas to immediately optimize water conservation efforts, prepare clean water distribution fleets, and strengthen early detection of emerging hotspots," Muhari said.
