Lyall Bay landslip damages wastewater pipe

A slip on a hillside above Lyall Bay in Wellington has damaged a wastewater pipe.

Wellington Water said workers were assessing the situation, and looking at diverting any wastewater back into the network.

The 4m slip is just off the pedestrian path that connects View Road with Queens Drive.

The path will be closed in the interests of public safety.

"There is no reported discharge of wastewater to a watercourse at this time, however, the team onsite are investigating the local watercourses to confirm," Wellington Water said
