
MANILA, Philippines — The crowd at the rally organized by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) near the People Power Monument along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) has now reached 14,100 as of 4 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Data released by the PNP showed that around 13,500 people were at the junction of White Plains Avenue and Edsa northbound, while 600 more people were gathered across the site at the corner of Edsa southbound and Connecticut Street.

Meanwhile, according to the PNP, two rallies likewise mounted by the INC had ended at the Edsa Shrine along Ortigas Avenue; and the Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila.

The INC held rallies on Tuesday morning, supposedly in support of Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, who faces an impending plunder case over an alleged P75-million campaign donation during his 2025 senatorial bid.
The protest actions prompted the PNP to raise a full alert status over all its units.
Around 2,166 police officers have been deployed to the area, according to the Quezon City Police District Public Information Office in a text message to reporters. /mr
