
MANILA, Philippines — The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has opened enrollment for 25 Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) scheduled from July to December 2026, offering learners free, self-paced online courses through its MODeL platform.
The new batch follows the 32 MOOCs offered during the first half of 2026. UPOU said six new or returning courses are included in the latest lineup:

Batayang Kasanayan sa Akademikong Pagsulat sa Filipino; Panimulang Kasanayan sa Gramatikang Filipino

UPOU said the courses are free, self-paced, and open to the public. Participants who complete the requirements may earn a 16-hour electronic certificate.

Here’s how to get started:
Go to the website of the Massive Open Distance eLearning (MODeL)
Click “LOG IN” to create a new account.
Fill out the form with your details. UPOU reminded registrants to make sure their email address is spelled correctly and has enough available storage to receive messages.
Check your email account for the confirmation link. UPOU said users may expect delays of up to three business days due to high user traffic.
Confirm and log in.
Browse the website homepage and select the course you want to enroll in. UPOU said self-enrollment usually starts two weeks before the start of the course and remains available while the course is ongoing.
The Los Baños-based online university also recommended using a Google-affiliated email address, such as Gmail, for more reliable message delivery.
The university noted that available courses are featured on the MODeL homepage, while other offerings may not yet be open for self-enrollment.
