A rescue operation was carried out at St Peter’s Pool in Delimara yesterday after a youth required medical assistance.
Civil Protection Department rescue teams from Fire Stations 1 and 5 responded to the incident, with two rescue swimmers assisting the casualty from the shore to the CPD rescue boat using an inflatable stretcher.
The youth was then transported by sea to St Thomas Bay, Marsaskala, where an ambulance was waiting before being taken to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment.
The Civil Protection Department thanked the Malta Police Force and the Emergency Department at Mater Dei Hospital for their assistance during the operation.
