Mandaue signs landfill settlement, eyes return to direct waste disposal

MANDAUE CITY — The Mandaue City Government and Asian Energy Systems Corporation, the operator of the landfill in Consolacion, have signed a compromise agreement that could pave the way for the city to once again directly dispose of its garbage at the facility. Mayor Thadeo “Jonkie” Ouano signed the agreement on behalf of the city with representatives of Asian Energy Systems Corporation on Tuesday, June 30.
