Retraction to: Nature https://doi.org/10.1038/s41586-025-09727-z Published online 26 November 2025
The Editors have retracted this article at the Authors’ request. After publication, concerns were raised regarding the tumour burden in some mice in the control arms of the experiments presented in Fig. 4b (NPPO1-NE, NPPO-4, NPPO-6, and MSKPCa10 grafts) and Fig. 5j (WCM1262 grafts). The authors have shared the underlying tumour measurement and mouse bodyweight data, which confirmed that animal welfare protocols were breached. An investigation by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee at Columbia University Irving Medical Center found that these experiments were not compliant with protocol endpoints. The authors regret this failure to adhere to the highest standards of animal experimentation. No other experimental data or analyses have been affected by the issues underlying the investigation or retraction.
Jia Li does not agree with this retraction. All other authors agree with this retraction.
