MANILA, Philippines — National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin on Wednesday said they will wait for the Quezon City government to issue a new permit if the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC)-led rally at the People Power Monument extends beyond its approved schedule.
Rally organizers secured a permit from the city government to hold the assembly along White Plains Avenue from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

“So, as long as they are doing well, they are not unruly, then we’ll let them stay here until such time that the next permit will be issued again,” he added.
The INC began the rally early Tuesday in support of Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, who is facing an impending plunder case over an alleged P75-million campaign donation he received while serving as a congressman before his successful 2025 senatorial bid.
The Philippine National Police earlier said Tuesday’s rally was held without a permit, contrary to the requirements of Batas Pambansa Blg. 880, or the Public Assembly Act.
Organizers later secured a permit from the Quezon City government for Wednesday’s gathering./dp
