MANILA, Philippines— The Senate committee on women was unable to locate the parents of one of the two suspects in the fatal June 22 shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City.
The committee, chaired by Sen. Risa Hontiveros, is investigating the incident that claimed the lives of three students and injured several others.
The two suspects were a 15-year-old student identified as alias Rod and a 14-year-old student identified as alias Nash.

Nash’s aunt, PSSg. Arla Ray Pacencia, whose registered firearm was allegedly used for the shooting, attended the hearing, Hontiveros noted.
“Thank you for your presence. She is the aunt of alias Nash,” the senator said.
“I mention this to inform everyone that the committee also tried to invite the parents of alias Rod, but we were unable to locate them. I just want that to be on the record,” Hontiveros added.
Also present at the hearing are relatives of some of those killed and wounded in the shooting.
Among them are the parents of Boy Scout Chris Lorenz Fabian and Yancee Separa—who were shot dead by the suspects.
