Prime Minister Robert Abela, together with his wife Lydia Abela and several Labour Party officials, cast their votes yesterday as the party’s leadership election got underway.
The vote is being held over two days, between 30th June and 1st July, following May’s General Election, which saw the Labour Party secure a historic fourth consecutive term in government.
“We vote so that with this leadership, we can deliver the best politics for our country,” Robert Abela said in a statement shared on social media.
Among those also casting their ballots were Ian Borg and Alex Agius Saliba, following the first session of the Labour Party’s Extraordinary General Conference, which is held after every general election.
The leadership confirmation process is expected to conclude on 2nd July.
