
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Zambales suspended sea travel for all vessels on Wednesday as rough seas spawned by Tropical Depression Henry battered the province.
According to Commander Euphraim Jayson Diciano, head of the PCG in Zambales, the suspension was based on the 5 a.m. advisory of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), which placed the southwestern portion of the province under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.

“In this regard, the operation of all types of vessels is hereby suspended except for purposes of taking shelter,” the PCG advisory read.

“The riding public, coastal communities, and fisherfolk are strongly advised not to undertake any sea or weather-related activities until conditions return to normal in order to avoid accidents or loss of life,” Diciano said in an advisory.
Operations will resume once weather and sea conditions improve, as officially declared by Pagasa.
Based on Pagasa’s advisory, the center of Tropical Depression “Henry” was estimated at 115 kilometers west-southwest of Abucay, Bataan.
