Newly elected office-bearers and central committee members of the National Independent Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party-RSP) took the oath of office on Wednesday. The oath-taking ceremony was held at the party’s central office in Banasthali, Kathmandu, where party President Rabi Lamichhane administered the oath to the newly elected leaders.
The party’s first general convention, held in Bharatpur, Chitwan, from Asar 7 to Asar 12, elected six office-bearers and 99 central committee members. Following the oath-taking ceremony, President Lamichhane presented the newly elected office-bearers and central committee members with commemorative tokens featuring the party’s bell symbol, along with certificates of election.
The party is also preparing to convene its first central committee meeting later today. The meeting is expected to discuss the nomination of 51 additional central committee members. Lamichhane was elected unopposed as the party’s president during the convention.
