
OLONGAPO CITY, Zambales — Olongapo City authorities are preparing their water-rescue assets following a pre-disaster risk assessment (PDRA) meeting on Wednesday in anticipation of the possible effects of Tropical Depression Henry.
The Olongapo Fire and Rescue Team (Bravo) has placed its water rescue equipment and personnel on standby to ensure readiness for possible rescue operations should the weather disturbance trigger flooding and other emergencies.

Earlier, the Olongapo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), together with Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr., convened a PDRA meeting with members of the Olongapo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC).

During the meeting, city officials and response agencies assessed the potential hazards and risks associated with Tropical Depression Henry, reviewed existing preparedness and response measures, and evaluated the readiness of various departments and emergency units.
Discussions also covered proactive measures, resource availability, monitoring protocols, and inter-agency coordination to safeguard the lives and properties in the city.
The CDRRMO said it continues to monitor official weather updates and urged residents to remain vigilant, prepare emergency supplies, and follow local authorities amid the threat of heavy rainfall, flooding, and other weather-related hazards.
Based on the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) earlier advisory, the center of Tropical Depression “Henry” was estimated at 115 kilometers west-southwest of Abucay, Bataan.
