
LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Two people died in separate road accidents in Quezon province on Tuesday.
A report released Wednesday by the Quezon Police Provincial Office said a 27-year-old man identified only as “Zoilo” was standing along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Malabanban Norte in Candelaria town at around 11 p.m. when he was struck by a rolling tire that detached from a passing Isuzu tractor head pulling a trailer driven by a man identified as “Reno.”
Zoilo sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died while undergoing treatment.

Police arrested Reno, who is facing the appropriate criminal charges.
In a separate incident in General Nakar town, a motorcycle rider identified only as “Joseph” died after losing control of his motorcycle while negotiating a curve section of the road in Barangay Poblacion at around 1 a.m.
Police said Joseph, who was not wearing a crash helmet, skidded and slammed into the rear wheel of a dump truck parked along the roadside.
He sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene./coa
