Anyone considering a move to Portugal will have the chance to hear directly from some of the Algarve’s leading relocation specialists when the latest Living in the Algarve seminar takes place at the Tivoli Carvoeiro Hotel on Tuesday, July 7.
Organised by the Open Media Group, the free event is the 20th in a long-running series designed to provide independent, practical guidance for people planning to relocate, retire, invest or buy property in Portugal.
Two identical seminar sessions will be held, at 10.30am and 3pm, allowing attendees to choose the most convenient time. Admission is free, but advance registration is required as places are limited.
The programme covers many of the issues prospective residents face before making the move, including Portuguese residency rules, taxation, visa options such as the D7 and Golden Visa, buying property safely, the current real estate market, healthcare and health insurance. Visitors will also have the opportunity to ask questions directly to speakers before and after the presentations.
The event will be hosted by Bruce Hawker, CEO of the Open Media Group, alongside a panel of experienced professionals from across the relocation, legal, financial and property sectors.
Among the confirmed speakers are Daisy Sampson, CEO of AFPOP; Shelley Wren, Head of Business Development at The Sovereign Group Portugal; João Pinheiro, Chief Operating Officer at MEDAL Insurance Brokers; Zoie Hawker, Managing Partner of Fine & Country Algarve; Mark Quinn, Tax Adviser and Chartered Financial Planner at The Spectrum IFA Group; Luís Duarte, Chief Sales Officer at Global International Relocation; Diogo Almeida and Nicholas Martins from DS Intermediários de Crédito; and lawyer Hugo Henrique from Martínez-Echevarría.
Together, they will offer practical insights into the legal, financial and lifestyle considerations involved in relocating to Portugal, drawing on years of experience advising international clients.
As well as the presentations, attendees will be able to meet the speakers and event partners during informal networking breaks over refreshments, including wines from Quinta dos Vales, giving prospective residents the opportunity to discuss their own circumstances in more detail.
The seminar forms part of Open Media Group’s wider Living in the Algarve initiative, which has become one of the region’s best-known information events for international residents. The group publishes several foreign-language titles, including Portugal Resident, Essential Algarve, Barlavento, Vivre le Portugal, Inside Carvoeiro, Inside Lagos and Clubhouse Algarve.
Registration for the July 7 event is free and can be made through the Living in the Algarve website.
