
MANILA, Philippines — Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla on Wednesday said “nothing has changed” when it comes to the Office of the Ombudsman’s plan to file plunder charges against Sen. Rodante Marcoleta this week.
Remulla said this during an ambush interview in Pasay City when asked about the consecutive rallies being held by members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in support of Marcoleta.

“Nothing is changing. Nothing has changed,” Remulla said when further asked if the Ombudsman will still push the filing of charges against the senator.

But the Ombudsman did not specify which day this week the charges will be filed.
Meanwhile, Remulla said the INC has freedom of expression to conduct rallies in support of Marcoleta, but he pointed out that the “selective justice” allegation is a “wrong premise.”
“There is no selective justice in the country when it comes to the Ombudsman,” Remulla emphasized.
On Monday, Remulla announced that the Office of the Ombudsman is set to file plunder charges against Marcoleta this week in connection with the senator’s supposed P75 million undeclared campaign donations in the 2025 senatorial elections. /mr
