Ivan Falzon has been approached to take over as Labour Party CEO, according to a report by Times of Malta.
Falzon would succeed Leonid McKay, who was announced on Tuesday as the new CEO of Transport Malta.
Currently serving as CEO of the Gozo Regional Development Authority, Falzon has previously led Mater Dei Hospital, the Water Services Corporation and Infrastructure Malta. He has also advised the Labour Party on electoral strategy.
According to the report, a final decision has not yet been taken.
A Labour Party source described Falzon as “a very competent person” who has consistently delivered results in previous leadership roles, adding that he has the stature to replace McKay.
The CEO is one of the few full-time positions within the Labour Party and is appointed directly by the party leader. The role oversees the party’s administration and day-to-day operations.
