The Electoral Commission has announced the results of today’s Local Council Casual Elections, with three candidates elected to fill vacant council seats.
Rita Borg was elected to the Birkirkara Local Council, filling the vacancy left by Yana Borg Debono Grech. Emanuel Camilleri was elected to the Ħal Għargħur Local Council, replacing Mariah Meli, while Danny Farrugia was elected to the Mosta Local Council, filling the seat vacated by Anthony Agius Decelis.
Meanwhile, no candidate was elected to fill the vacant seats in the Marsaskala and Gżira local councils, which had previously been held by John Baptist Camilleri and Conrad Borg Manché respectively.
The casual elections were held to fill vacancies created after several local councillors were elected to Malta’s House of Representatives following the recent General Election.
