CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO, Philippines — Several passenger ferry trips in Mimaropa region and nearby provinces were canceled on Wednesday morning, July 1, as Tropical Depression Henry continued to affect sea travel.
In an advisory issued as of 8 a.m., the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) said the affected routes were suspended due to adverse weather conditions brought by the tropical depression. The agency clarified that it does not directly cancel voyages, noting that trips are automatically suspended once the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) enforces a no-sail policy. Shipping companies may also cancel sailings in accordance with the terms of their Certificates of Public Convenience issued by the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina).
