
CEBU CITY, Philippines – The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has opened enrollment for its latest batch of 25 free online courses, giving the public the opportunity to learn new skills from anywhere at no cost.
The courses, offered through UPOU’s Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) platform, are open to anyone interested in upskilling through flexible, self-paced online learning.

For those who want to enroll, here’s how to get started:
Go to the website of the Massive Open Distance eLearning (MODeL)
Click “LOG IN” to create a new account.
Fill out the form with your details. UPOU reminded registrants to make sure their email address is spelled correctly and has enough available storage to receive messages.
Check your email account for the confirmation link. UPOU said users may expect delays of up to three business days due to high user traffic.
Confirm and log in.
Browse the website homepage and select the course you want to enroll in. UPOU said self-enrollment usually starts two weeks before the start of the course and remains available while the course is ongoing.
The Los Baños-based online university also recommends using a Google-affiliated email address, such as Gmail, to help ensure the delivery of confirmation and other system emails.

The university noted that available courses are featured on the MODeL homepage, while other offerings may not yet be open for self-enrollment.
Classes will be offered from July to December 2026. As an autonomous university within the University of the Philippines System, UPOU delivers its programs entirely through distance education.
