LUCENA CITY, Quezon – The local government of General Trias City in Cavite has assumed responsibility for providing continuing support and monitoring to 578 families who have graduated from the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said.
In a report released Wednesday, the DSWD-Calabarzon said the local government unit (LGU) formally accepted responsibility for aftercare monitoring and support services for former 4Ps beneficiaries during a graduation ceremony held on June 30.
The turnover aims to ensure that the families will sustain the gains they achieved under the program and avoid slipping back into poverty, the agency said.

Established under Republic Act No. 11310, the 4Ps is the government’s flagship conditional cash transfer program that provides financial assistance to low-income households to support children’s education, health, and nutrition.
Under the program, qualified beneficiaries receive a monthly health grant of P500 per household and an education grant of P300 per child, subject to the program’s conditions.
The DSWD said the city government will prioritize all 578 graduates for various local assistance programs, including rice subsidies, livelihood assistance, skills training, and other capacity-building initiatives.
During the ceremony, Mayor Luis A. Ferrer IV pledged the local government’s continued support for the graduates and reaffirmed its commitment to the 4Ps program, citing its role in helping families keep their children in school while improving their health and overall well-being.
Ahead of the graduation rites, 100 program graduates also received P5,000 each in livelihood assistance under a city government livelihood program./coa
