Hundreds of Dunedin properties without power

Hundreds of Dunedin properties lost power on Thursday afternoon due to an unplanned outage.

Aurora Energy said power was cut shortly before 2.30pm and crews were patrolling the line.

About 700 customers were affected, in parts of Andersons Bay, Highcliff, Macandrew Bay, Musselburgh, Shiel Hill, The Cove and Waverley.

Power was expected to be restored by 6pm.
