CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — The municipal government of Lubang in Occidental Mindoro has lifted the “no sail” policy imposed on all motorized bancas following the improvement of weather and sea conditions.
In Memorandum No. 014, Series of 2026, signed by Mayor Michael L. Orayani in his capacity as chairperson of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), the suspension of sea travel was lifted effective Thursday.

With the lifting of the restriction, sea travel, fishing operations, and other maritime activities in the municipality may resume.
However, the MDRRMC reminded boat operators, fisherfolk, and other sea travelers to continue observing safety precautions, regularly monitor weather bulletins, and coordinate with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and barangay officials for updates.
The order comes as Tropical Depression Henry continues to move away from the Philippine landmass. While tropical cyclone wind signals have been lifted, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) continues to advise operators of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels to exercise caution due to moderate sea conditions in some coastal waters, including the Lubang Islands./coa
